Remove the following registry key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderTypes\{ef87b4cb-f2ce-4785-8658-4ca6c63e38c6}
Log off and log back on and test.

Search on Start Menu Corrupted
Clicking Start, and entering a phrase to search for (eg: cmd) results in the following problem:
Remove the following registry key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderTypes\{ef87b4cb-f2ce-4785-8658-4ca6c63e38c6}
Log off and log back on and test.
Remove the following registry key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderTypes\{ef87b4cb-f2ce-4785-8658-4ca6c63e38c6}
Log off and log back on and test.
